EFD 4×4 offers a complete integrated range of suspension kits, designs which have evolved over 50 years of suspension experience.

EFD 4×4 recognise that there is no single solution practical for the varying needs of 4WD owners and different driving conditions, therefore EFD 4×4 offer a wide selection of matched components, once fitted will transform the vehicle around the drivers needs.

EFD 4x4 also offer various optional components further enhancing suspension performance or geometry correction purposes. Such components include Greaseable Shackles & Pins, Steering Damper, Caster Correction, Trim Packers, Suspension Arms.

CNC COLD COILED

4x4 coil springs are CNC Cold coiled to ensure perfect consistency and accuracy. The result of cold coiling means that springs are subjected to less heat during the manufacturing process to help maintain the materials properties and resulting in longer life.


BAR PEELED

Bar peeling is the process of forming the material to an exact size before coiling. This ensures the diameter remains constant and free of flaws along its entire length.


SHOT PEENED

Manipulates material surface tension to reduce stress, greatly enhances spring life.


TRIPLE SCRAGGED

Each coil is fully compressed to a solid state 3 times to minimise coil settling.


PROGRESSIVE AND LINEAR RATE

Used in accordance to original vehicle manufacturers preference, progressive springs increase rate as the spring compresses, linear springs maintain a consistent rate throughout its range.


POWDER COATED

All springs are electro-static powder coated for a durable finish.

INTER-LEAF LINERS

Used in some applications to lower friction between leaves reducing noise and improving comfort.


LINED BOLT CLAMPS

All Ironman springs feature bolted guide clamps for greater flex, the addition of anti-friction liners ensures noise free smooth operation.


SHOT PEENED

Shot peening manipulates the spring materials surface tension to reduce stress and will enhance the springs life.


DIAMOND CUT LEAVES

Distributes load at the leaf tip and reduces interleaf friction.


MILITARY WRAP

Where applicable, an additional wrap around the leaf eye protects from failure in case of damage.

GVM Upgrades

The usable payload of many 4x4 vehicles today is minimal. Additional basic optional equipment along with two or three adult occupants will bring the vehicle close to its legal maximum weight (GVM) in many cases. Add long range fuel tanks, bull bars, winches, side steps, roof racks, recovery gear and a payload of camping equipment or an industrial type custom body and the vehicle will ultimately exceed the Original Equipment allowable Gross Vehicle Mass.

Original Equipment suspension is designed for comfort above all other considerations, thus load carrying and performance can be compromised. Whereas, EFD 4x4 GVM upgraded suspension systems come with matched components for the ultimate in performance, load carrying and handling.

EFD 4x4 only stocks and installs products are extensively tested in real world conditions, both in-house and by independent automotive engineers to ensure conformity and operator comfort.

Ironman 4x4 regularly maintains and reviews its own internal processes and procedures as part of our ISO 9001 Quality Management System certification.

Formal testing verifies product safety and performance through official certifications issued by independent testing agencies and Government departments, including DOTARS, TÜV Nord and KBA.

pro forge upper control arm

4x4 Pro Forge Upper Control Arms allow installation of larger tyres and further increased ride height by providing corrected wheel alignment and greater operating clearance around the arm as is often the limitation when using the OEM upper control arms.


The Pro-Forge Upper Control Arms, are manufactured from 6082 T6 alloy with silver anodised corrosion protection. Ultimate strength is achieved using a drop forged method of construction that hammers the arm into shape using a precise die. During this process the grain structure of the alloy is aligned with the new shape and any imperfections are removed.


This results in a much stronger and more durable product than a cast, machined or fabricated arm.


Low maintenance components which follow the OEM philosophy ensure durability is not compromised.


Bushes and ball joint are replaceable with OEM compatible or Genuine components.


All fixtures including brake wire provision are integrated within the arm.


ADR compliant with a 3 Year 60,000km warranty.

DIRECTIONAL PRE-SETTING


Torsion Bars are rotationally pre-set in their direction of installation to reduce spring settling. Each bar is marked for left or right fitment.

Direct replacement for the OEM mounts, contains all mounting hardware*, durable natural rubber bushes and insulators. Features heavy duty washers and self locking nuts.


Facilitates the pre-assembly of complete new struts without disassembly of old unit.

Steering Dampers are designed to vastly improve steering control of your vehicle. These dampers feature a 35mm diameter piston and bore.

Greasable shackles and pins enable the easy re-greasing of polyurethane spring bushes.

QUAD-OUTLET GREASABLE


Greasable shackles providing an easy method of re-lubricating polyurethane bushes. Quad-Outlet ports distribute grease liberally along the bush surface ensuring you minimize wear of the bush and maximize the serviceable life of them.


SERVICABLE


4x4 shackles and pins feature a serviceable bolt together construction to ensure you can maintain them and ensure they maximize their lifetime.


ANTI-INVERSION SHACKLE


On selected models Ironman 4x4 includes a third pin on our shackles. This pin is positioned to protect the spring in the case of an inversion.

panhard rods

Adjustable drag links are the best and safest way to re-align you steering after a suspension lift. Due to their vulnerable position they are also liable to get damaged causing issues with steering and wobble.

Add-a-Leaf is a simple, cost effective addition to boost your existing leaf springs.


Kit includes 2x tapered leafs with anti-friction inserts, M8 and M10 replacement centre bolts and easy to follow instructions.
